Details of the event

A crucial skill for staff at all levels in university library and archive services is advocating for our offer and demonstrating how the work that we do directly supports our institutions. This session provides practical advice to achieve these goals.

Joanne Fitton (Liverpool) will begin by exploring how directly linking service activities to broader institutional objectives can help to achieve tangible benefits.

Rachel Beckett (Manchester Met) will then share tips and examples for how library and archive staff at all levels can develop buy-in and support when advocating to decision makers.

The session will include time for questions and conclude with breakout groups to reflect on the content and discuss how it aligns with our own experiences and challenges.
