There are range of organisations and website who recognise library design and promote library space planning. These include :

The SCONUL Library Design Awards celebrate good examples of academic library design in the UK and Ireland. Recent winners include ALN member, Lancaster University Library and their extension project focuses on customer engagement and design.

The LIBER Architecture Group (LAG) brings librarians together with building projects, and helps to focus concepts and planning processes and they have launched a Library Building in Europe website.

Libraries Connected works to promote the value of libraries and share best practice and innovation.
