Libraries work diligently to create meaningful and informative learning support sessions. However, these events often face the challenge of poor attendance.

What do we mean by engagement? Engagement can be charted through various stages: students’ awareness of the support available, their willingness to sign up and attend, and their level of interaction during the sessions. Should we be using a marketing approach to reach students, evaluate our offerings, or consider the timing and mode of delivery? Or should we enhance the sessions themselves through more interactive elements, gamifying learning, and promoting discussion?

This event aims to explore challenges and discuss various strategies to boost engagement. We’ll share examples from our member libraries on how they’ve addressed low turnout, including what strategies have worked and what haven’t.

Who is this event aimed at?

It will be of interest to anyone involved in teaching students (info literacy, study skills etc).
