10:05 – 10:20 – Tom Vause, Leeds Trinity University: Creation of a Partnerships Librarian and Partnership Policy at Leeds Trinity University
This presentation will discuss the creation of a full-time Partnerships Librarian role at Leeds Trinity University. Looking at the roles responsibilities and priorities, especially the creation of a Library Partnerships policy which defines the relationship between the library and partner institution.
10:20 – 10:35 – Jenny Coombs – De Montfort University: It takes both sides to build a bridge: Experiences of developing library resources for a new international branch campus
This talk will outline how De Montfort University set up a recent branch campus in Dubai. The processes taken to develop library provision, and the challenges and opportunities posed will be discussed. The talk will also highlight the importance of working collaboratively to establish a successful library service.

10:40 – 10:55 – Leanne Young, Sunderland University: TNE Partnerships at the University of Sunderland: Proactively Meeting the Evolving Challenges of Supporting off Campus students
The University of Sunderland have delivered programmes through transnational partners for several decades. Currently the University of Sunderland has 25 TNE partners in 17 different countries. The Distance Services Librarian Role within the Library has supported TNE students and staff, and provided a link between partners, faculty and the Library throughout that time. We’d like to share the key things we’ve learnt about supporting TNE students and to highlight some of the key challenges we face today which may be common to others e.g. engagement; proliferation of new models of programme and the system implications involved; licensing; e-book cost; study skills and information literacy and how we continue to support our partners.

Discussing experiences of supporting students at international and local partners, specifically looking at Library Inductions, staff training and campus specific libguide.

Chance to discuss topics covered during the event, other key areas affecting partnerships in the sector and next steps.
