Co-Chairs

The group is chaired by Zoë Johnson (University of Huddersfield) and Andrew Taylor (Liverpool Hope University), who both took on this role in July 2026.

Zoë is a subject librarian at the University of Huddersfield, supporting the Schools of Applied Sciences and Computing & Engineering. During this time she has gained her PGCE HE and HEA Fellowship. Her role involves all aspects of subject liaison work, from collection management, teaching and referencing. She is also part of the ALN Conference Planning Team.

Andrew is a Academic Services Librarian at Liverpool Hope University, where he supports Business and Law & Criminology. HE is interested in AI, innovative approaches to information literacy, teaching and how emerging technologies can enhance established pedagogical practices. He is also a Fellow of the HEA. 

Remit 

The Academic Librarians Community of Practice is a network for all Academic Librarians, Liaison Librarians, Subject Librarians, Engagement Librarians or other appropriate members of staff, carrying out a liaison/subject librarian role based in Academic Libraries North (ALN) member libraries. It provides a forum for discussion and sharing of experience across the member institutions. The Terms of Reference provides more information on the group and its activities.
